Year 3

Miss Taylor and Mrs Kavanagh would like to wish you a warm welcome to Year 3. Whilst in year 3 the children will be encouraged to develop a more independent and mature approach to their learning. Please ensure that your child’s reading book is in school with them every day and encourage them to read at home. They will need to read at home a minimum of three times a week to achieve their target for the school reward system and achieve their Holy Family high five. We always aim to ensure the children feel stimulated, happy, and safe and strive to make their learning experience as enjoyable as possible.

Throughout the year the children will study a wide and varied range of topics, some of which will include The Stone Age, the Roman invasion of Britain and also WW11 and its effects. If we can be of any assistance please don’t hesitate to contact us through class dojo, at the end of the day or through the school office.

Physical Education

The children take part in PE lessons every Monday afternoon, please ensure that they have a full PE in school at the beginning of each half term.

Homework

Homework will be sent home every Friday and needs to be returned no later than the following Thursday, homework returned promptly on Monday morning will be rewarded.

Spellings

The children will bring home spellings on Mondays, please encourage them to practise them for our weekly test on Friday.
